Address Stamps

I saw these address stamps here awhile ago and just love them!  I love hand-written notes and these stamps would be just perfect to go with them:

One day, when I have more of a permanent address, I will get one, or three, of these.

The Things I Learn at Work

Disclaimer: this is not supposed to be an interesting post for anyone other than me.  I mean, it's debateable that I find this stuff interesting. But I still wanted to document the things I learn whilst at work.

I am preparing a Safety Training Session for my work on Industrial Safety, where I will have a segment on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's, for those in the know), and I am researching all about hard hat requirements, noise reduction ratings, safety glasses, etc.

Here are some interesting notes aboud Noise Reduction Ratings that I read here:

Painful:

150 dB = Rock Concerts at Peak
140 dB = Firearms, Air-Raid Siren, Jet Engine
130 dB = Jackhammer
120 dB = Jet Plane Take-off, Amplified Music at 4-6 ft., Car Stereo, Band Practice

Extremely loud:
110 dB = Machinery, Model Airplanes
100 dB = Snowmobile, Chain saw, Pneumatic Drill
90 dB = Lawnmower, Shop Tools, Truck Traffic, Subway

Very loud:
80 dB = Alarm Clock, Busy Street
70 dB = Vacuum Cleaner
60 dB = Conversation, Dishwasher

Moderate:
50 dB = Moderate Rainfall
40 dB = Quiet room

Faint:
30 dB = Whisper, Quiet Library

Cool right?  I mean, who doesn't want to know all about the level of decibels your alarm clock puts out every morning...

And the thing about ear protection? They can reduce decibels between 25+ levels! Now THAT is exciting.
