Makeup Blog

It seems I have a lot to blog about lately! As many of you know, I love makeup artistry and have had the opportunity to work with Heather at Amorology and several of her brides, doing hair and makeup for weddings.  Before I moved to the San Diego area, I had been doing hair and makeup for friends weddings and special events for quite a few years.  Well, now we are making things a little more official and I have made a blog where I will be showcasing some of the brides I get to work with, reviewing products that I like and talking about makeup techniques and such.. it should be fun!!

Anyway, I just wanted to show you all the new blog:  Bride Eyed Makeup

Have fun looking!!

Aloha!

A few weeks ago Micah and I visited Maui with our good friends Adam and Emily.  We had such a good time, but of course only took pictures one of the days that we were there...

We found a cool hike along the Road to Hana, it had crazy trees and a rope swing into the water, so of course Micah had to try that out:

We found a few other cool hikes along the Road to Hana with tons of waterfalls and bamboo forests...

Oh, we also tried to swing on some of the vines, cause we've seen people do this before... in a movie or something..

But this is what happens in real life:

This is Adam.. he crashed... on the ground.. the vine broke when we actually tried to swing on it.

The rest of the Road to Hana was fun, we had a few more stops along the way, but one of my favorite parts was the drive home.  We followed the map back home the other way around the island and ran into some one-way dirt roads, driving along steep cliffs and saw some serious country with cows in the middle of the road and everything!

The rest of the trip was so fun, I just wish we had taken more pictures!  Here are some highlights: Micah and Adam brought a giant sea turtle to the beach Emily and I were lounging at, and we ended up swimming around with this giant sea turtle for about an hour!!  Fortunately for me he was feeling pretty social and stayed in the shallow beach area and swam right by me a few times.  We also got to watch a luau show for free, while eating at a restaurant with a perfect view of the show.  We played a serious game of tennis on the only day it rained. We ate some delicious shaved ice and walked through some cool art galleries. We ate tons of amazing breakfasts, one of my favorites: strawberry and cream cheese stuffed french toast encrusted with macadamia nuts and topped with coconut whip cream!!  Oh, I also just loved the part where we went to the beach everyday we were there and lounged and swam.  It was so nice and I got so tan for a day or two, too bad its already fading.

We had such a fun trip Manville's, thanks for inviting us!!
